Risk, Hazards & Crisis in Public Policy News

The Policy Studies Organization and the Pacific Disaster Center at the University of Hawaii have formalized editorial arrangements for the Berkeley Electronic Press journal, Risk, Hazards & Crisis in Public Policy.

PDC is a major resource for risk, disaster and crisis management professionals as well as executive decision makers in the fields of natural and technological hazards, and stresses to social, cultural and economic wellbeing. It attracts worldwide attention for contributions to disaster risk reduction, mitigation and planning, by stakeholders and disaster managers, national governments, regional organizations, and International- and Non-Governmental Organizations.

Negotiations for PDC were the responsibility of the Executive Director, Ray Shirkhodai. The new Editor-in-Chief is the Center's Dr. Heather M. Bell, who did her PhD at the University of South Florida with Graham Tobin and was Tharp Fellow there, and taught at the University of Miami prior to joining PDC and the University of Hawaii. The Managing Editor is Dr. Erin P. Hughey of PDC. Senior Editors are Dr. Ross Prizzia of the University of Hawaii, Dr. Allen Clark of the East-West Center, and Dr. Pak Sum Low of the Uiversiti Kebangsaan Malaysisa and Bond University, Australia. Honorary Editors are Ray Shirkhodai and Nobel Laureate Dr. Nguyen Huu Ninh of CERED, Vietnam.
